In the garden

Today my veg patch has provided its last lunch to the local wild birds!
Because I have taken matters into my own hands!
By making a baby scare crow.
Sam helped with this, mostly by telling me how cute it looked rather than scary
But I’m hoping the birds will think it’s one of my kids playing in the yard & stay away.
Well here iám stance!
See what others are doing outside today at:

On my mind

School lunches
This morning I could have lost my mind,
I cooked all day Wednesday things for the freezer including zucchini slice for Sam’s lunch box, when I offered her some for a try she refused!
O.k. you’re nearly 5 I get it...
I had in mind left over roast nice & warm in her thermos bowl for lunch today but last night I didn’t think to save any potatoes Grrrr
No bread...o.k. I got out the bread maker how do you work this thing I had to ask hubby!
Many hours later we had a brick Grrrr.
O.k I took out pasta sauce from the freezer for spaghetti bolognas that I left on the bench all night....
Only to wake up to a nice little container of hot tomato sauce smelling out my kitchen Grrrr.
So I just made her pickets for lunch! As there is a sugar rule at Sam’s school I couldn’t then add a piece of cake I so lovingly stocked my freezer with to her lunch box, so I stood at the pantry for a further 10 minutes racking my sleepy head for lunch box ideas.
So on my mind today is full proof lunch box ideas for my stock cupboard or freezer assuming I remember to defrost it properly!

Winter Wednesday

When the due is covering the ground
I know it’s going to be a good day, a day wearing jeans & a turtle neck jumper, sitting watching the due melt from across my kitchen table with a warm cup of tea in my hands.
But today,
On this winter Wednesday I have big plans of cooking all day
& I’ll be sporting the traditional footwear of winter,
 My pink Slippers!

So join in for more winter Wednesdays with Hazel

Back to school

Back to school!
Well my whole family came down with Gastro yuck!
3 days of the washing machine & clothes dryer going none stop...
Today Sam is back to school somehow I managed to make her a pillow for rest time in between my last loads of washing so she is all set.
I have the whole day to scrap the house back into shape what fun!
Some kitchen fun.

Grateful

“In daily life we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy”
“I’m Grateful for baby monitors”
At 4:45am this morning
I heard my 13 month old
Gulp or so I thought!
When I went to see he was in fact
Chocking on his, own vomit!
After a few hours & only yellow boil coming up
I flew him to the Doctors.
So you see
I'm very grateful today for
Baby monitors
&
My son
Ricky

Winter Wednesday

Living in Perth we don’t get Snow during winter.
But we do get hot summers.....
So
I love to garden in winter
The crisp wether
The chances of what you’re planting will survive!
& gardening in the rain...
A little drizzle reminds you its winter & you don’t have to water in the plant’s ;)
Grow little Peas
So for more Winter Wednesdays stop over & say hi to Hazel .
